I have a slideshow which works fine at larger viewport size, the thing that happens at lower viewports (around 780px for example is the background image which is on the slideshow container skips a little bit when the slide changes, I have done nothing to change that background image - all same size position etc at whatever viewport size- have tried and tried all sorts to find what is causing that little skip but am flumoxed now

Any ideas solution gratefully accepted,

have a look if you want (no links working just put it up so you can see what i'm talking about)

I notice that the jump happens when the slideshow changes from the 4th slide to the first, and then it jumps back at slide 2. I'm not good enough at RCS to be able to solve this, but I notice that the first slide, the one with the sunset, is larger than the others, and it goes all the way down to the end of the background at 780px wide, whereas the other ones are smaller. I wonder if there is a connection there, the background and the slide images not matching in size or so.

If the viewport is narrowed further, the jump happens for slides 2-4 and it jumps back at the sunset. Has the sunset image somehow different properties than the rest of the slides?

There is a definite jump of the background (making it larger) to give room for the text when that goes below the images. Slide 1 has no text going below.

For what it's worth, just some observations.
