Evening,

Shortcut "Control + F4", up until yesterday, was putting the current editor file out to the server like it should with no issue.
Today suddenly, it's opening a ... ?? - I don't know what it's called - it's opening a seperate window with thumbnails of all open programs, folders, whatever ?? ... instead of doing the Coffee Cup thing!

Ideas to get it back to the wanted behavior?

TIA,
Les

It's working fine here.

Are you sure you typed the right keys? Or that the Editor was the app selected when you typed Ctrl+F4?

Just checked again.
Opened the editor, made a minor change to a file:
"Control + S" saves it properly.
"Contral + F4" doesn't ftp it to the remote server - it opens that odd window. I have to select "Upload current editor file" from the meny to put the file ..
I've tried rebooting - doesn't fix it ...

Really odd ...

What happens if you open a different project/file? Does that weird dialogue still open?
Or what if you have a chance of opening it on a different computer?
Is it a HTML file you are working with, or maybe CSS, JavaScript, PHP...?

Different projects, different files, different type files (html, php, css) ... doesn't matter. Dialogue still opens.
On my 2nd computer - nope, functioning as it should.

Something settings wise has changed somewhere, and I've no idea how to reverse it!

Well, so far, we have found that it is related to that specific computer. Did you install the HTML Editor to its default location? Is it the most recent version (18.0.890)? If you have done everything 'by the book', but it is quite a while ago? Maybe you should uninstall it, reboot your machine before reinstalling and see if that helps.
Or another thought:
Have you recently installed a Windows update? Or installed another program? If so, try to uninstall that program and see if the Editor starts 'behaving'.

It might, of course, be a problem with the keyboard itself. To test, I would do the following.
1. If it's a laptop, try it with an external keyboard.
2. If it's a desktop computer, try it with a different keyboard.

Thanks for chiming in, Frank. Trying a different keyboard is something that didn't come to my mind.
My next question would have been if the machine happened to be a new one. My previous laptop had problems with some of the key combinations in the Editor, and also just in Windows. As an example, I had to press Ctrl+Fn+F12 to switch from split preview vertical to horizontal in the Editor, where Ctrl+F12 should be enough, and a hard refresh of a website would only happen if I added the Fn key to the Ctrl+F5. Even Mike Dixon, the one who created the Editor, was scratching his head over that one.

Les, have you tried Ctrl+Fn+F4 to upload your site?

It wouldn't have come to my mind either but for the following.
1. It seems that Ctrl+F4 is giving for Les what Windows 11 usually gives for Alt+Tab.
2. Ctrl+F4 was previously working in the usual way for Les on that computer.
3. It seems unlikely that Windows 11 or any other program would take over that shortcut as an alternative to Alt+Tab.

The references to Alt+Tab in my last post could also apply to Ctrl+Alt+Tab, which has the same effect, but stays on the screen until one clicks outside it.
