Issues using CTRL+V - Post ID 201716

Every so often when using the HTML editor (version 12.7 build 456) I have issues pasting things.

This happens when I am pasting from somewhere else (WFB, animation studio, etc) and within the program. I have uninstalled it, reinstalled it, repaired it and anything else I can think of; but to no avail.

If I restart my computer and open the HTML editor before anything else, it works fine. But if I don't then I can't paste.

But, I can paste in anything else. So I can paste in Word, Excel, Google, this forum etc, just not in the one place where I want it to.

Any ideas?:/

Are you trying to paste over selected code?
I can't hear what I'm looking at.

I've tried it both pasting over selected text and just pasting on to nothing. Same outcome.

Do you get a context menu when you right click in the editor?

I have had issues with the latest version with copy and pasting.

I am afraid I cannot tell you the steps involved, other than selecting the code, then
the insertion point, and pasting...

I was working on five files yesterday and was copying some blocks of code from
one to the other, all was fine, then blocks of code were appearing at the top
of one of my other open pages, I didn't paste the code there, so just closed without saving
and reopened the file, all was ok again.

Copy and Paste within the Editor is usually fine, but I have the gut feeling that something
can get its knickers in a twist sometimes.

It has happened once or twice before when I have been modifying and uploading files as I go,
returning to find that another open page has somehow locked onto the pasted code from another...

Strange...

Regards
Peter

Yeah, if I right click in the editor, I get the full context menu and I can select paste but nothing happens.

When I press CTRL+V, it looks like the editor is thinking about doing it, but then gives up :( it's a big pain at the minute.

What type of doc are you working on? Does it do it in other types?

I agree with Eric. Open a support ticket and include your HTML pages and what you are copying from.
