Hi Guys,

Is there a feature in the built in HTML Editor to fold code up like in Visual Studio and Notepad++? Im running the editor on Windows(8.1).

I don't know how it is in the two progs you mentioned, but if you mean having a div collapse from visibility with all that is in it, no, that is not a feature in HTML Editor. I wish it were.

I love that feature with Note++ saves on the endless scrolling down when editing.

And it is much easier to see if an end tag is missing.

I end up switching between HE & NP++ especially for missing end tags and to check if there is a break in a div or span
I should have something clever to say... but I don't.

I don't suppose you are aware that posting a .jpg file (I presume its a screen grab) from a Mac to a forum causes a Windows browser (chrome in this instance) to need to save the file before it can be read are you? This is only a suggestion but making a PDF of it instead of a jpg lets it be read in the browser with that handy little free browser add-on nearly everyone has ...Adobe reader. Just a gem I recently discovered.

Paranoid people like me don't like saving files from someone else's computer.
Hmmm. I see its not limited to Macs... On checking I notice you are a Windows users!

You don't have to save it, just choose what program you want to view it in:
(You can also set these defaults from the Control Panel on a PC)

Opening/downloading PDFs are way more risky than just viewing images.

Not sure the original question got answered; Can you or can you not collapse (or fold) code to decrease scrolling through lines of code?
if so, how?

Regarding the question "Can you collapse the code in HTML Editor?", Inger's answer in the second post in this thread remains true: "if you mean having a div collapse from visibility with all that is in it, no, that is not a feature in HTML Editor".

There are, however, several ways of decreasing scrolling through lines of code -
(a) One can press F12 on the keyboard to preview the page, and click within that preview on the part of the page in question. That will highlight the code for that part and scroll to it.
(b) One can use the Find facility (Ctr+F).
(c) One can use Ctrl+G to go to a particular line number.
(d) One can set and go to bookmarks 1-9 (keyboard, not number pad) using the keyboard shortcuts shown in the Document menu.
