Does anyone else have this happen......

I just thought I would ask, as I have tried to find out why I have this happen all the time and
have drawn a blank.

The HTML editor runs fine, but will always lock solid or grey over the screen and be unresponsive for a long time, leaving it in that state will see it suddenly become active again.

My only solution to this is to shut it down with 'Task manager' and restart it.

I use another program to create photo albums and upload them directly, in the same fashion as the HTML editor does.

The locking up of the HTML editor only ever happens when I have this other program running, I also have other programs active as well sometimes.

So far I have had advice to only run these programs on their own, which is a strange thing to have to do. The album editor I use, runs fine as does any other program that happen to be up at the same time. No other programs lock up like this, ever.

I only ask as the HTML editor is so much better now, and this is the only thing it keeps doing.

I thought maybe someone might be able to help in some way.

Thanks
Peter

ps.... I have 6Gb of RAM

I have not had any similar issue, and frequently run the editor, form builder, and color schemer all at the same time.

Possibly if you could include the version numbers and build numbers of the software you are using as well as the operating system we might be able to help further.

Peter,

First, do you have a 64 bit version of Windows?

Second, have you updated to the current version of HTML Editor?

Third, what other programs are you running?

Lastly, what types of scripts are running on your page?

Hello

Thankyou for the response, I have the HTML editor version 12.7 build 454.
My operating system is Window 7, 64 bit, service pack 1, with 6 Gb of ram
Processor is AMD A8-3500M APU with Radeon HD Grapics 1.5 Ghz....

This issue is when the editor is 'running' on my pc, no scripts or even files need to be
open in the editor, it only needs to be open, I can have as many files as I like on the screen
when the editor is open.

My photo album program is usually running too, but shows no problems at all, the HTML editor
will freeze solid in the background with a glazed over screen and the spinning disc of windows just..... spinning, deep into whatever is happening.

If I just go away and leave it, the editor will eventually come back to life, this can be up to 5 minutes, if i dont wait and 'maximise' the editor (if it happens to be minimised), nothing happens. The program
is unresponsive and wont maximise...

This issue has only been happening since I downloaded the build stated above. Previous versions of the editor did not behave this way.

I can get the full screen HTML editor window maximised, but have to shut down the image program (jAlbum) to get there. When I do get there its locked up...

All other programs are fine with no issues, jAlbum included, its just the HTML editor that does this.

Very odd and most frustrating, I can have as many programs as I like open and all is well, its only
happening when I use the HTML editor and jAlbum together.

I will persevere and run them separately, but thats not really helping... as the core of my website is these two programs

Thankyou very much for anything you might be able to shed some light on

Regards
Peter

Peter,

I would say submit a support ticket. They will be able to walk you through how to setup Debugging mode and maybe find what the issue is.

The other suggestion I have is maybe you have a bad install and need to remove the current version from your computer, restart your computer and then redownload and install again.

Unfortunately we have already tried many times to figure that one out. I keep saying" format that computer Peter!" ;)

Peter it would appear therein is your problem. There are a myriad of photo albums even the CC one which may be a better investment. A computer is like a Woman sometimes it is best not to know the reason they do what they do and find the common ground.

Thanks everyone, I guess I shall persevere, its a strange one indeed, and after all is said and done, I have to say, the photo album program I use isn't trivial and not something to put down in a hurry.

Its MAJOR and very very well done.

I shall just use them both and hopefully at sometime in the future I will notice all this
isn't happening anymore..
