If it happens again, before you uninstall (using the CC folder) right click the UNWIS and click run as Admin that should take care of your problem if it happens in the future.

I had same problem with uninstall - located file and ran as admin.

Then did clean up - BUT BE AWARE that all the website projects will be gone with sinippets as well.

Make sure you konw how to get them back by loading .cpf file with open website project.

Just an FYI...

If you go to your folder that has the Snippets in it Users/youraccount/roaming/CoffeeCup Software/ (documents folder in your account and the CoffeeCup Software folder in there is where I think it used to reside before the newest updates that moved the install) you can save those to a different location for putting back in later. I would suggest only putting back the ones that you added yourself though as I'm sure over the years they will be updated as code versions change and you wouldn't want to lose the newer things.

If you go to the Users/youraccount/roaming/CoffeeCup Software/HTML Editor/ directory you will see the Settings directory. I just save a copy of that to the same place I save any snippets.

Now you have inside the Settings folder a file called projects.ini and that is your whole Website Projects setup for all the accounts you had. That's really the only thing youl'll need from that folder.

AT this point I don't know if the toolbar saves will transfer or not, but that's in that same Setup folder too.

Now do your uninstall / reinstall. After reinstalling put the projects.ini file back where you found it (just a copy, keep the other one and save it periodically when you add/remove projects). Poof no more having to reset up your projects.

Hope that helps :)

Interesting one this, as, since the last install of the CoffeeCup HTML Editor,
I always was able to do the uninstall via 'Programmes and features'.

However...... on my installing the latest release I too was informed that I had to
have administrator rights to be able to proceed.

I HAVE administrator rights........

I have never before had this happen, its only appeared since the latest release.

I also noticed that in the programmes and features window, in the listing of
all the programmes, that CoffeeCup HTML editor has none of the columns to the right side of the CoffeeCup program name initialised and filled in, whereas ALL the other software on my system do.

This is odd, as its never been like that before, and this demand for administrator rights to me, an administrator, has never happened either.......... ?

One another note.....

Due to the denial of uninstall rights, I carried on with the install regardless, and find that the CoffeeCup install program now has an automatic, 'ask' then Uninstall feature built into it, so no need to manually uninstall anymore.

The install process went ahead, did an auto uninstall, and seamlessly put the latest release in place...
All went fine.

This administrator rights thing is very strange though.... And has only occurred since the program has changed where it goes.......

Maybe!

Anytime Scott. You should give it another try... The coding is not that hard to work with... There are a lot of Guides out there to help you and CC is a good program for that...
