Hello all ,
I have been using Fkexbox and even though I am far from bring an expert I am learning enough to get by.
Question I have is: When using flex on a page if I use Type also will I run into a problem when I make a new page and use flex? Do I make column flex-1 or is that possible? And than additional pages get named flex-2 etc. ?
Thank you,
Ray

Hi Ray,

You can have the class names be anything you want. If the classes need to have the same visual settings you could just use the same class name and it will keep the same settings. If you need to change some of the settings you can create a new class.

Thanks Jeff,
Had one of those brain not working days today  what ever I tried to do would not work have 10 pics to put as flex and was able to get them to work in column only could not get the row to flex them at all. I shutdown and will start fresh in the morning. Must be missing something real simple oh well learn from ones mistakes.

Sorry to bother again but wondering if I am on the right thinking track in regard to the Flex problem I had today. Ok will try tomorrow and in my mind this is what I think I should do.
For adding say 8 images:
Row - name what u want
Column - make FLEX
Add 8 containers in column have Column Flex
Add the 8 images 1 in each container and each Container ad Flex.
When move to higher break point make Flex column ROW now at this point do I than resize each container or image?
I have Grid set for 1200 px and ea. Image is max 300 px that should give me 4 images on a line correct?
Sorry to keep asking about this hopefully tomorrow when I have a fresh brain I will get the AHA moment

Ray, can you post a rff file for us to look at? It makes it a lot easier to review it and see how we can help.

If you can't post the original file you could just make a simple document with blank containers as placeholders.

There are so many possibilities with flexbox there is no 'one' correct solution. It all depend on what you want the final layout to look like. You could also post a sketch of how you want the 8 photos to arrange at one or two breakpoints for us to look like.

Jeff

Also, it's no bother. Keep on asking questions until you've got it down!

Is this what you're trying to put together, Ray?

Jeff, Thanks for your help again, I downloaded the zip and will look at it later today as time permits, also at one time I did have it working the way I wanted BUT it had to do with another page that I had TYPE for some items land that messed me up good thing I checked ALL pages before I decided to upload again. I will look at what you did for me and than read all the info I have saved including yours. I want to try and get it right again on my own but if I can't I will ask again to see what I am not doing right. I will post how things are going.

The TYPE is a trap you can easily fall into. I am not quite sure about it either. If you have the type img for example, you may apply some styling to that type. That will then affect all your images. But maybe you don't want them all to look the same way styling-wise, so if you then apply a class to the ones that you want to have differently, you can do the styling, but then apply to class.

Hello Inger, Well I almost fell into the Type Trap  glad I check all pages before uploading. As I replied to Jeff I did have it working the way I wanted it BUT than saw a problem on a page made earlier that I used TYPE on and was also Flex. That is why I was wondering if Flex is changed to Flex-1 etc. for different pages. Will look over later what Jeff sent in a zip and also your info and others, I am sure it is something very simple that my brain for some reason is blocking on me ;)

I know you have been VERY busy so thanks for taking the time to reply again.
