I wouldn't call that 'fixed'. 'Placeholder' is the attribute for text that appears in a form field, that disappears once you start writing in the field.

Actually, there was a bug with the attribute Placeholder in RFF, and that was that once you had set it, you could not edit it. So the 'fix' should have been applied to that, instead of not allowing the attribute.
