Anybody Else Experienced something like this,

Working merrily away, and saving regularly, (as normal) Talk about co-incidences, (probably couldn't get enough money on the timing) I pressed save at exactly the same time as it started to äutosave or maybe just a nano second before) the result --- greyed out area over the layout thingy on the right, cannot do a save as, close or anything so got to do hard shutdown.

This is one reason why I suggested that we have the option to turn autosave on & off as we see fit or have a choice of how long between auto save it saves.

Too early to have a beer to calm my shattered nerves, will have to make do with a Coffee Luak

Yep, I've gotten that gray box a few times recently. I couldn't exactly remember if there were specific instances that caused it so didn't make a post about it. I think I got the gray box around the same time I was saving and/or hitting the preview button.

I, too, would be happy not to have an auto-save. Or at least be able to turn it off. I usually save quite often but there are times that I am testing something and would definitely NOT want it to save during those instances. I usually make incremental saves during real jobs, to always have backups at different stages. Some 3d software I use has an 'incremental save' option which I find handy.

I've had that happen also. I just closed the program and then re-open and it seems to have saved what I was trying to save.

Hi Ernie & Jeff, well at least I'n not Robinson Crusoe on this,,,, I couldn't close or anything,,, had to hard close it through device manager,,, lost some changes from last save but wasn't too disastrous
