Visual Site Designer, VSD is Visual! WYSIWYG. No coding. That's the whole purpose of VSD. Having said that, I also doubt that any updates to VSD will be forthcoming. The new Responsive Site Designer ( when it is released, hopefully soon! ) will be the wave of the future. VSD is non-responsive and there is no way to make it responsive. The new program will probably allow most of what you are looking for. You, me and about a gazillion other users are waiting for it! CoffeeCup I'm sure is hard at work on it. :D

That said, I don't work for CoffeeCup, so, who knows. Never hurts to ask . . .

Although I think the new Responsive Site Designer is quite cool, it does not replace VSD. The reason folks bought VSD is to build website without any coding. RSD requires users to understand coding. I really wish they could create a combined version of VSD and RSD. It would be sad for VSD to die as most of the folks who build sites in VSD have no clue how to code.

Hey Bill,

I think you got confused. Responsive Site Designer has not been released yet. When this application is released it will be much like VSD in the sense you don't have to know code to create a website.

You may be thinking of the current Responsive Layout Maker. And yes this software requires the user to have basic knowledge of HTML and CSS3.

Hope this helps

Yep! What Steve said!! I'll be the first ( and not the last ) to admit that I don't like to code. I am eagerly awaiting the release of RSD which we think is just what you want. VSD wrapped up in a responsive package. No coding required, however, with a little coding it may be even better. Just have to wait a little longer to find out all the juicy details.

Hi,

has any kind of roadmap been set out for RSD?

Best regards,

Oh, thanks for the clarity. If they are creating a new VSD that builds responsive websites then I'm quite excited. I will be one of the first to buy the software. I hope they use what they have learned in VSD 7 so we don't have to start over on any of the features.

Do we think this is a 2014 release???

My understanding is that it is going to be a 'Responsive Site Designer' where the user will not have to do 'much' coding. It will be 'like' VSD, but it won't be VSD! You may be able to produce a site without coding, that will be responsive. However, there will be things you may have to 'tweek' the code on to get it just the way you want. Basically we do this with VSD too. I have also heard that layouts created with the RLM program will be able to be imported into RSD. That right there tells me you'd have to adjust some things.

Bottom line is that CoffeeCup is not letting much information out about this right now. Bits and bytes is all we're getting! We won't really know what it's going to be, until it arrives. Soon! (Right Scott? Soon? )

LOL yea exactly right. From my understanding RSD will kinda look like the current RLMP so you may want to download the trial version and take it for a test drive. If my guesses are right the functionality will be quite similar except you wont have to do any manual coding! It will be a game changer in responsive design that allows people with little to no knowledge of coding to create websites!

Personally I love the Responsive Layout Maker!
