Inserting an interactive order form?...

Hi everybody,

*quoted from another thread about the same topic*
I've been a long time user of VSD and have had the Web Form Builder for awhile but haven't used it much. Now I would like to add an interactive order form to my website and am looking at the Form Builder to do it. What I would really like is an order form in a table format where the client can insert an image number and quanity for different print sizes for that image. With the cost of the prints provided the form would total each print size and hopefully the entire order. I've made one up in Open Office/Micrsoft Office and would like to use that as a template. So far I haven't been able to figure out how to do this. Is it possible to make some type of table in the Form Builder? If not I think I can get the form to work in an akward way.

I've designed our website with the VSD and would like to insert an interactive order form with the ability to total print orders and add taxes and shipping and perhaps even have the ability to receive payment with it. I've made one up in Open Office that I would like to somehow place on my website or use as a template to make one up that will fit. Does anyone know if there is any way to do this?

Thank you for any help that can be given,

Linda

Hi Linda
I would take a look at the Form Builder.:)

I can't hear what I'm looking at.
It's easy to overlook something you're not looking for.

Thanks Eric,

I have the web form builder and looked it over again a little while ago, I may be looking at it wrong but I can't get it to set up the way I would like it. I'm in the process of downloading the shopping cart creator to see if I can design it the way I want it. If not I'll keep looking.

To set up anything first write down every step required, action by action. The Form builder can handle much of what you want, however the output of invoices etc is a requirement of after data handling. It is fairly easy to do once you have the steps listed. If you have many products then the Shop Creator is the go if only one or two then the Form Builder could do the job.

VSD can certainly contain the site. Also remember a page with links can do the initial logic leading to an appropriate page. Pay now buttons set up within paypal and other gateways allow for additional information to be delivered to yourself and your customer.

It some times pays to have the system set up for you to ensue instant success.

To start a simple buy now button with you issuing an invoice after a sale, you could move on from there as the business expands

Thanks Prism,

Like I said earlier I've got the Web Form Builder and I've been playing around with it when I've had the time the last couple of days. I also downloaded the trial version of the Shopping Cart Creator Pro and looked that over briefly the other day. I couldn't figure out how to set up a simple order form in a table format in the Shopping Cart Creator, couldn't figure that out in the Form Builder either but I may be able to work it out so that a form is workable. I've got one started and it looks promising. If I can get this going the client will be able to enter the image # and quantity of diferent print sizes and I'll have to invoice them after I receive it. This should work for now.

As far as having someone else set it up, I've put together our website and we are quite happy with it. To go to someone else to do anything takes the control out of my hands and I'd rather not do that. I'm usually pretty savvy about things once I figure out what I need to do. I've been very busy the last few months and thought I would ask here about the options Coffee Cup offers without having to do an inordinate amount of research. It looks like I should have the time to devote to this after this week.

Planning is the first requirement. If you have many products then a shopping cart setup is the way ahead. I only have a few so I use Buy Now buttons and handle records in a simple manner.

It all boils down to the volume of sales. The form builder allows for you to use a payment gateway and it will pass a successful sale to the payment system and that system will respond to you once payment is made. The result is also stored in a database or csv file. You will need to get the last record and create an invoice based on data stored. Some info can be sent to a customer within the form builder.

If you are going it alone consider a simple system to get started and then build up a better one while satisfying customers.
You use VSD. This in itself can produce the logic by links to direct customers to an appropriate page where a simple form can get the customers order. Check out those action points, put yourself in the shoes of a client and see what actions they would or could take. Choices become limited the further down a selected path is made eventually coming to a logical conclusion or in your case the right product combination

Linda I hear you!

I too want a customer configurable order table to just drop in to my existing website. I too have both the web form builder and the shopping cart software and don't know how to make either work the way I want. And I too have no interest in getting someone else to do it.

Here's hoping CoffeeCup comes up with one, say called "Customer Order Form" - I'd happily pay for it ;-)

Maybe you could get what you want with this template?
Online payment form template

I just changed one section to show the prints/prices instead of toys in the default example.
It seems you could add everything you need – Put a field in for image number and whatever else you want.

I think I'd put a paragraph on it saying something like shipping & handling can be chosen in the Secure PayPal Checkout.
Then let PP deal with it :D
