Hi All,

I have a flash file which I'd like to include within my coffeecup produced site. Is anybody able to provide some advice on how this could be done. As far as I can see, there is only an XML file so nothing HTML to paste into the tool.

Cheers, Rob. UK.

Is this a video, animation, or what?

If you want to make this file down-loadable you only need to link to the file, if you want to embed this file in your site you'll need to create an embed code. I can point you to the right program/code if you tell me exactly what type of media it is that you're using and how you want it to display...

If its a video then here are my two initial suggestions:

http://www.coffeecup.com/video-player/

and

http://www.longtailvideo.com/

I use longtail video just because it gives me more control and more options, but both are great softwares.

Hi Chad,

thanks for the response.

The flash animations are from www.flashden.net

This is the kind of thing I wish to run from coffee cup but they end up as .swa .fla files and not html code to call the animation.

Robert,

Coffee Cup web video player will allow you to select the flash video you want to display, adjust how you would like it to display, create customs files for you to upload, and then generate an HTML embed code for you.

The Jeroen Wijering video player available at Longtailvideo.com will do the same thing but its for more advanced users. Sounds like your new to working with flash vids so download the trail version of CC web video player and see what you think!

How about FlashFirestater 7.2 - wouldn't this allow me to edit these files and publish to my www site? I need to edit the text within the animations, would the video player allow me to do this or would I be better off with FlashFirestater 7.2?

Firestarter uses flash as an output method, but it generates it's own file format, so you wouldn't be able to edit the text in those video files in Firestarter.

Take Bruzers advice and get Macromedia, or get Flash:

If you only have a few graphics to change you can download Flash from Adobe's web site and use it free for 30 days.

FLashDen produces .fla files where as firestarter makes swf files. Web Video player converts mpg, wmv, mpeg, avi etc; to fla for it to work in the player. you CAN NOT edit an .fla file or any flash with the video player. Firestarter however you can make a flash ( swf ) banner, page to fit your needs to a point.
Go here to see an overview of firestarter.
http://www.coffeecup.com/firestarter/

both programs are not editors. When you buy from FlashDen it should say with what it is needed to edit them, preloaders whatever.......: )
