Hi, I am fairly new to website design. I need to design a website with about 10 main pages, and maybe 15 sub pages. (like "read more" about this service") I need a shopping cart system that will work with paypal. I have about 15 different item/services for sale. (for reference)

1)HTML editor. I started with a theme and edited it allot. I was starting to catch on, but I was having problems with setting exact alignment in regards to text and pictures, and just overall structure.

2)Visual Designer--Really easy to use. (resolved my alignment issues I was having with the HTML editor)
My Question is this...I noticed some options on the "side bar" to use other coffee cup HTML programs. The shopping cart program was not listed with the visual Designer. Can you use the shopping cart software with visual designer? Which brings another question...Do I even need the shopping cart program for what I am doing?

Hiya Joe,

Well let's see where to start? hehe. Firstly if you find that VSD is easier to use for you then by all means give that one a go as it works pretty nicely with all of CC's software. The Shopping Cart Creator is an entirely separate entity from any site you create so it really doesn't have a "work with" type situation. SCC's basically make an entire site so you can choose to either add extra pages via that program or you can integrate it using links on your VSD site menus and you can have the Home page link of the Shopping Cart Creator site link to your VSD site. Themes can be worked with also so that you can do your best to make them similar etc. There are also themes that you can purchase from CC's Theme Shop that have matching VSD and SCC themes.

The HTML Editor gives you a lot more power in the end and more freedom, but it's a lot of work and a lot of knowledge needing to be learned, so in the end that choice is totally up to you on what you want to learn and do.

Now the question about whether or not you need a Shopping Cart program or not would really depend on your products. If you don't mind sharing what it is you're selling that would help us know if you need a cart or not. Hard to answer that one without knowing that part.

I always suggest to start with the Shopping Cart Creator Pro also instead of Basic since you can't "upgrade" to the Pro version via a normal upgrade system. The Basic and Pro versions are pretty much separate programs so Pro is not an upgrade to Basic so you do need to pay the full price for the Pro version even if you do buy the Basic, so might as well start with the best one right off the bat rather than find out later that you need it and wasted the money on the Basic version. Just my thoughts on it.

You'll have to give us just a bit more info on your products to know if you need either one so let us know that much and we'll give you a better idea on if you need a cart system or not.

As for Paypal, both the Pro and Basic versions use Paypal as well as a few others in the Pro version and you can also use the Paypal system to accept Credit Cards even if people don't have a Paypal account so it works pretty nicely there.

Hope that helps :)
