Website not showing same format as...

I'm new to the web creation world and new to coffeecup so bear with my ignorance. I'm looking to buy the product, but am hesitant if I can't figure out why there is a difference between when I view the form in coffeecup from when I view it on my website. I updated the form, made all the changes(labels are to the left of the input fields, the form is very condensed), published it to coffeecup, copied the code to embed in my webpage. I pasted the code in the html body on the placeholder tab in Xara. When I preview it in Xara and even publish it, the form does not look the same. My contact page is http://skippastep.magix.net/contact%20us.htm. Technical support suggested something with the <div> and I have no idea what that means. Any idea what is causing this?

I use xara too. The WFB works great! If you get everything uploaded correctly. Your link to the form does not work. Got another one?

And just to mention, you should avoid spaces in your file names. Browsers can deal with them but servers cannot and sometimes they can cause problems.

I believe you Skipped a Step there.

Can you provide us with a direct link to the website so that we can take a look?

Also make sure that you are clearing your cache as this may effect what you are seeing.

Gunsmoke - By taking out the space you are referencing: 'contact us' (contact%20us)?

Gunsmoke - thanks for the tip! I will make that change!
Adam East - I cleared the cache like you had showed me previously but it is still the same. Any other ideas?

Just looked at your site. Nice by the way! The WFB form appears to be correct. It's the 'Powered by something or other form, on the left that seems to have problems. I'd replace it with a WFB form and you should be good to go. Or did I miss something?

Thanks gunsmoke! It's my first website in Xara. I have only built one other website in webhub and it is frustrating using wordpress. I've attached what my preview looks like in coffee cup. I had to make my box longer on the right side so it would all fit. It seems like no matter what changes I make I can't get the labels to the left of the fields and it is spaced down the page.

Okay, I see what you want. The space in Xara would need to be wider for that to work, or in WFB make your fields smaller. ie. in WFB highlight your field and select the properties tab. Come down to 'width' and see what the setting is. Might try making it smaller. Also, might go to 'Form Options' tab and come down to Max. Width and make it smaller. Let me know how that works out.

You might not have to shrink it much to get the right look. just play with the settings.

Gunsmoke you are awesome! I had to make the placeholder like 800px wide before if finally put the label and field on the same line. Wow that is a massive placeholder. Do you know the difference between item width and form width on the form tab? Any idea which combination will allow this to fit nicely in a 400 px wide area on the site?

Have something to add? We’d love to hear it!
