VSD for home/product pages, sccp or...

What software should we use to remake our site in (VectraFitness.com)? We just got CC SuperPack and plan on using inmotionhosting. The products we are making/selling need a lot of explaining which is why we did not pick a theme or a Shopify type store (which looked hard to modify extensively).
The current plan is to start from scratch with VSD for the home and product pages (with occasional help from photo gallery). Flash menu builder seems like a bad idea (because of flash), so I guess we will try to make top menus with png files... When someone clicks "buy now", it will link to pages built with either shopping cart creator/designer pro, or ZenCart with our Host. We have many product options that effect price and we need coupon codes. Shipping is by truck and we will most likely have 4 flat trucking fees to 4 regions of the U.S..
Do you have any suggestions? Should we somehow use shopping cart creator(or ZenCart) to make the whole site in? VSD seems very powerful and is what sold us on CC, but it doesn't have the cart.
We do not know CSS or html.
Thank you,
Kent

If you want your website and shopping cart to look similar for a seamless experience find a theme that's available for both SCC and VSD or design your shop first then make your VSD site look like your shop. You may not need the addition of a website to backup your shop if you only need a few addition pages to inform your users.
I can't hear what I'm looking at.

Thank you for the reply. A mock-up of a product page is attached (done in Gimp). I want to make sure that we are heading down the right path in regards to software used. It is hard for me to say that any of the templates will be helpful as a starting point. I am guessing one option is to use scc for the upper picture and text. Then make all of the lower content in vsd, and copy it over to scc?
I am not sure the best way to make the top menu bar either. What do you suggest for making the menu bar? I notice that html editor has a css menu creator, but I am not sure about making sure the placement works with all monitor resolutions.
The other question is if I need to go elsewhere for the shopping cart due to our needs of coupon codes and many product variations (that effect the price).
Thank you,
Kent

I'm sure you could get the cart to look close to what your image is. Themes for SCCP are customized with SCDP. You can look at a theme for it's layout only and make all the color and images your own. SCCP is the guts of your site where you put in your products, pricing structure and descriptions, where SCDP is what you use to give it your style. Take them both for a trial run.

Kent is it just the one product you are selling with lots of accessories ?

I guess what i would do is use VSD and create 1 page for the main product, and 1 page for each of the accessories, and link each page to the specific product in SCCP

That would give you a good descriptive page with its own pictures etc, which would also be very Google friendly

My delorean site in my signature has similar use.

Tempted to suggest if you want side tabs etc like mine i could send you my home brewed template as a starting point, your page in pdf would fit neatly into it.

Started using CC VSD in January 2009, I don't do HTML code, Sales from CC site exceeding expectations taken me out of semi-retirement
