Hello,

We first recommend that you download the latest version of Visual Site Designer from our website dated May 5th, 2011. If you are still having problems with this version, please see the steps below.

This can happen even if you are running as an Administrator, and it is caused by Windows very strict security settings.

To fix this, right-click your Visual Site Designer shortcut icon and select Run as Administrator. This should properly launch Visual Site Designer for you. If it does, great! You can continue to launch the program in this way, or you can go a step further and configure the shortcut to always run as administrator. Here's how:

1. Right-click the shortcut icon, and click Properties.
2. Click the Compatibility tab.
3. Here, put a check mark by Run This Program as an Administrator.
4. Next, put a check mark next to Run This Program in Compatibility Mode For: and ensure Windows XP Pro Service Pack 2 is selected.
5. Click OK.

If you continue having problems you may also need to set the application as an exception to Windows Data Execution Prevention (DEP) feature. Normally if this is the culprit, you'll get a little bubble along the taskbar notifying you, which will allow you to set the offender as an exception.

One last option that could be the cause of this, and related to the DEP feature, is User Account Controls. This is the large window that appears in Vista asking you to "Allow" or "Deny" access to functions within programs. You can turn this off within your Control Panel > User Accounts window, along the left-hand pane.

All three options let you control your system exactly how you want and give you full access to do/run anything on the computer.

I cannot get all of the features on Visual Site. I have uninstalled and reinstalled twice but there are no themes and some of the features are not functional. Running Windows Vista.

I downloaded the trial version of the HTML Editor and started to install it. During installation, it offered an option to backup the files it replaces during installation. It wants to do this so that if I wish to uninstall it later, it can "rollback" my environment to what it was before the installation.

What files does it replace?

My concern is if it replaces some system files, and during my evaluation of the HTML Editor a Windows Update causes some of those files to be updated. If I decide to uninstall the HTML Editor after the Windows Update, those files would be "rolled back" to an old version.

Does that make sense?

I cancelled the installation of the trial version of the HTML editor because I'm concerned about this rollback to outdated files. Before I proceed, I would like to know what files are replaced so that I can decide if I'm comfortable with that.

Thanks.

I have tried this but still cannot get it to run. My trial period has expired and I have not had the opportunity to review this software. Is there a way to get another trial download so I can review this product?

It took you 30 days to finally start asking for help here for not being able to get it to run? Tsk Tsk. I don't think they extend trials, especially if you had 30 full days to work it out and I see only 3 posts here asking for assistance.

I have been trying to upload a page to my existing web site. But the ftp account settings on coffeecup visual will not accept them without getting an big error sign.

My site is ftp://ftp.countryjoycrafts.com/www.coun … s.com/html

I have tried ftp.countryjoycrafts and countryjoycrafts.com and neither are working. I have tried the whole ftp thing. I have used the correct user name and password. This is what I get back:
