theme corrupted - Post ID 214650

Trying out web form builder. Themes don't show up when I click on themes. Just get a black window. Tried the drop down options. Still no themes. Went to the library/theme folder. Every theme I click on gives me an error message that says the theme is corrupted and can be fixed by downloading it again. When I go to the CC theme page, they all require payment for themes.

I'm lost. Are themes included with Web Form Builder, or do you have to buy them?
thanks

Comes with 15 themes in the purchased version. The trial is suppose to be fully active but I'm really not sure. Someone else here may know.

One thing to try is to uninstall the WFB. Then right-click the install icon and select 'Install as Administrator'. When opening WFB make sure you open it as Admin. You can right-click it and select properties, then 'Compatibility' then check the box 'Run as Administrator'. After that just clicking the icon should bring it up with admin rights. This does fix some CoffeeCup problems.

Let us know if you need more help.

Okay, I did all of that and still no themes.

They are there in the library/themes folder, but when I click on them I still get an error message
and when I click on theme from web form builder itself, the theme window opens and it is a black screen. No themes - under any of the drop down options, etc.

I wonder if this has to do with running windows on mac through parallels. I have other cc software working perfectly, however, so I'm not sure why this would not work. Seems like a pretty simple program.
See attached .jpg's for more clarity.

Thanks
Donna:)

I'm sorry that didn't work. I'm not familiar with how windows runs on a mac. Perhaps one of the mac users will chime in soon. If not, I'd open a support topic and maybe the CoffeeCup gurus can help you out.

Just go to Support at the top of the page, then select 'Your Support Room' to open a topic.

The issue here is with your Parallels configuration. You need to go into the setup and isolate Windows from OS X. Right now these files are getting pointed to a pfs:\\ partition which the software cannot follow. You do that in the Configuration > Options > and change the Applications and Sharing settings.

Once you fix that, install the software again so that everything is placed in the Documents folder. Since you are on a Mac, you may want to use the OS X version instead. Would be much easier for ya. ;)

Thanks Scott, so I go into Parallels "Configure"
The I unclick all the options that say "share mac with windows" or vice versa.
Then I install WFB in the coffee cup software folder . . .

I assume then I will go back to Parallels "Configure" and reintegrate with Mac, and all will be well?
I'd like to keep my coffee cup stuff on the windows side, so I don't have to reinvent the wheel with ftp's etc.

Thanks

I would personally always keep them separate, but in theory, yes.

Seems like my reply disappeared, so I will repeat.
Okay, so . . . I did what you recommended and it seemed to work because when it launched after installing I could see the themes. I closed it. Restored the configure settings to integrated, and then went back and clicked on the desktop icon and the themes were once again missing.

After a good deal of uninstalling and installing, and unintegrating and integrating, I finally figured out that it was somehow getting installed in a local documents folder, instead of Documents/CoffeeCup Software. I did a drag and drop and then clicked on the desktop icon and it now works.

I'm going to go ahead and leave a copy in both places, as it is working well and I don't want to risk it.

On the subject of "I would personally always keep them separate . . . " One of the things I love about running windows on Mac, is that whenever I have had a windows melt down, I can still access my files and folders from the Mac side (because I keep them integrated). For me, this is just a dreamy set up. It is hard to image going back to having only windows and experiencing unbelievable insanity when windows freaks out and you cannot get to your stuff. So I love integration. Smile

Thanks sooooooo much Scott. Really appreciate the help. Now I'm going to write this down for future CC installations, and then I'm going to go play with WFB and see if I think it will work for me. So far it looks easy and effective.

Hope your weekend is great.
