Two questions please:

I'm in Australia and I do not want to sell anywhere other than Australia, New Zealand, maybe the UK. Is there any way I can block buyers from other countries? I want people from other countries to browse of course ... and maybe contact me if they want to buy ... then I can make individual decisions ...

And I think I just answered the other question in your FAQ area - I was going to ask about Facebook and Twitter links ... but it seems that I can insert them without too many problems ...

Thanks
Peter

You can use .htaccess to only allow users from certain countries to see your store for purchases. You'll have to create a separate store with "Publish as Catalog" selected for others. You can use .htaccess again to redirect the appropriate users to the catalog site.
I can't hear what I'm looking at.
It's easy to overlook something you're not looking for.

The other option you can do so you don't lose potential sales outside of your continenent is to create a fairly high shipping rate for other countries so that anyone that is truly interested in your products will still purchase and you'll recoup whatever cost it would be to have to ship outside of Australia. After all why seup shop on the internet if you're going to limit yourself so much in location right?

Have something to add? We’d love to hear it!
