I am trying to use SSI's on a page and am uploading to a CC free hosting account to check out how well they are working. Well, they're not working...so this is an example of how I am entering the SSI code:

<div id="header"><a name="top"></a>
<!-- BEGIN HEADER INCLUDE -->
<!--#include file="inc/header.shtml"-->
<!-- END HEADER INCLUDE -->
</div>

Anyone have any ideas as to why it's not working?

Thanks,
Linda

I'm assuming you are using CC's S drive? I'm no expert on that, but I know that you can't use php extensions, so maybe there are restrictions on shtml too. Have you tried just html?

Hi Inger,

Thank you for the reply. Yes, the code works without the SSI's. I know they work, because they were fine on the host server that I used to use.

Perhaps someone from CC could chime in here...can I use SSI's on the S-Drive? I'm interested in using CC as a host but not if I can't use something like SSI's or php includes. I don't want to have to change every page individually when edits are needed to common areas.

Thanks,
Linda

Linda, you could perhaps try object includes. They use plain .html extensions.
