Ok, try this. To insert Russian characters into your web page go to this site...
http://russian.typeit.org/

This will let you type in what you want. Then copy/paste it into your web document.

This work for you?

Ok, maybe I'm misunderstanding here. Are you on a Windows computer? If so, and you just want to insert Russian text into a web page then the link above will let you do that. If you are on a MAC/Apple then I have no idea.

If you want to type on your keyboard and have Russian characters show up, then try this
http://keyrex.sourceforge.net/ You'll have to download the file from Sourceforge and install. Then select the Italian character set and you'll get Russian. I haven't actually tried this, but the documentation says it should work.

I tried Windows Live as an experiment it allowed to put a translator on the page with a default language to start.
