RSD vs Software Choices - Post ID 266012

I've been looking for software that would allow non-coders to do some of the basic function in maintaining a website. RSD is in the running. I'm not a coder, give me solidworks anytime, but still need to make this decision.
I've looked at Wix and such but don't like the locked in monthly fees and last I looked SEO didn't like them as much. It is amazingly easy to create content on. With enough use SEO will eventually do more to accept them.
I've played with RSD trial and did ok in recreating our website. I recognized the name from long ago but I don't see much on RSD or sites that use it. Does RSD fundamentally work like Wix with an interface that uses internal magic to create and display a page, but differs when RSD exports it to a non internal magic code?
Wordpress is undeniably widespread and there is a responsive add on Visual Composer. I have not played with this. How does RSD compare? There is some utility in having something that's more common but it's not always what's best. but this then uses the wordpress platform at the site level.

I hadn't really intended to put what I find here but perhaps it will help someone else in deciding although with the rapidity of development this may become dated quickly. I hope I am not violating 9) c or e. I am very interested in any responses from users of RSD to help me make a decision.
Well Composer's trial doesn't seem to work or send the email or possibly is very slow and no obvious phone number so points for RSD on that. All tickets in my support room have been answered very quickly and they answered the phone.
Another impression in my interaction with CC is that it is for programmers by programmers. Is there input from the non-programmer and professional web designers?

I love the CC line of apps. RSD is a very powerful tool. Like any app once you get yourself familiar with it things start to happen fast.
I can't hear what I'm looking at.
It's easy to overlook something you're not looking for.

Do you manage multiple websites on the side from your main job? And as a side note are you interested in vertical farming?

Yes , I currently take care of a few websites apart from my main job at the greenhouse. What kind of vertical farming are you referring to? There's several kinds.

I sent you a message on the farming. Didn't want to go off topic and well outside CC software.

More on topic, have you explored other software and why did you chose RSD?

I stick with CC as there has been great support in this community that you won't find anywhere else. Their not flawless but I've seen them fix things within hours of a reported bug.

If you have a look through the RSD (and RLM) forum – especially early on, you'll find a lot of non-coders were using it. They went from VSD (visual, drag-drop, static) over to RSD for the advantages of a responsive website. Although it had a learning curve, it seems many non-coders made the leap to grids, CSS, breakpoints and Flexbox just fine.

Someone who has experience coding responsive sites would probably find it pretty easy to use, you just have to get used to the visual panels for things rather than typing them into a text editor.

The code RSD produces is pretty standard, It uses its own CoffeeGrinder for the responsive grid, everything else is the usual HTML/CSS and whatever you might add in (JQuery for instance).
Have a look at Foundation Framer for a similar visual interface built on top of the Foundation Framework, with all sorts of included components and animations (no coding required):

I love deadlines. I like the whooshing sound they make as they fly by. (Douglas Adams)
