Can you tell me how to create this effect in the RED application?

Is it possible to add more than a single row of columns to a single row? What i'm trying to do it a create a table like effect and have all columns use the same background color. The issue i'm having now is, when I set the design as separate rows with their own background color, the columns separate when the email is sent. Attached are examples of the email design, what i would like to accomplish and the weird broken spaces. Please let me know how to accomplish this desired effect. Thanks.
