Questions re Re-building a website -...

Not sure if this is the best area for this post.
I am along time user of HTML Editor and used it to build my first web site (Medset.ca), I was going to use Responsive Site Designer to re-build but time restraints changed that. I have decided to contract out and have already received interest from several web designers on here.

My goal is to have my new website developed with RSD unless I get sound arguments to the contrary. I am a big fan of Coffeecup with all of the help I received on here earlier.

Questions/concerns/Issues
I hope to have the new site developed and I will manage ongoing updates, changes etc. Love to get some comments on this.
Is hiring local (to me) a better option?
Is RSD is used will I need my own licensed version for updates etc.
There are risks associated with having someone a world away develop a website for me. Any suggestion on how I can reduce those risks?

I will appreciate any feed back on the above and if you are a web designer feel free to contact me. Like I mentioned I have received information from several persons on here. I will require links to sites you developed and references.

Hi Gerard,
The only issue I can see would be making sure your using at least the same version or newer of RSD as the developer and that upon completion they send you the RSD file. I think anybody on this site that is willing to help you should be fine. There's several users on here that do website development beyond their own sites.
Best of luck with your new site.
I can't hear what I'm looking at.
It's easy to overlook something you're not looking for.

This is a site I built for my work.(RSD)

Gerard, you have already had an offer from Wayan in the other thread where you posted this. Didn't you get back to him? You can rely on his ability to build a site for you, even if he is half the world away from you. He has helped people both in Europe and America before. You can find references and links on his own site.

Personally, I have also built sites for people in far away lands, but right now I have too much on my plate to be able to help.

Thanks for your reply Inger. Your comments are helpful
Yes i did get a reply from Wayan and i am interested. (I also get distracted by other issues)

In a project like this I like to get proposals from several persons. Everyone is different when it comes to functionality, creativity, reliability etc. Those are things I am looking for among others such as ongoing updates and support.

Have a look at my present, older website developed in HTML Editor. medset.ca. Lots of errors but it works. Larger screens only so Responsive is essential. The company focus is still the same with some product changes.

Let me know if you are interested. I have seen Wayan and yourself on here.

I would have been interested, but
#1 I'm busy (death in the family), and
#2 Wayan is better than me with RSD.
