Maybe its cause its loading it with IE? I tried setting it to chrome like this picture, but it does not list the browser I added in the "internal preview uses" box. It only lists it in the "select a browser" box below that. So how do I make it auto preview in the browser I add? Such as Chrome?

Hi, I am assuming you are talking about the HTML Editor. If so, here ya go ...

Go to 'Tools/Preferences' off the top menu
Select the TAB that says 'Browser Testing'

In the middle of the box you'll see your 'Favorite Browser' and under that the location of the browser. Simple change the name and select the location for Chrome or any other browser you wish. It should then work for you.

Let us know if you have any other questions.

Hi,

Yes, thats what I did, see the screen shot here: http://i.imgur.com/Z9jY6Xl.png

It still only shows IE in that drop down list.

Now anyways, I still dont have a solution for the crashing? Everytime I try to preview the code it crashes the whole software

The Split Screen Preview / External Preview can ONLY use IE. You would use Chrome, Firefox etc when testing in a browser.

So is there another way to preview my code without using IE? Or the software crashing?

Sure. Sort of...Where you put 'Chrome' in your screen shot you are adding Chrome to the 'Additional Browsers'. As Scott said, Only IE can be used in split screen preview. So, don't use the spilt screen. Just preview it in a browser. Works great.

Go to 'Tools/Additional Browsers' off the top menu. Pick one of the blank spots that say 'Additional Browser 2' or 'Additional Browser 3' etc ... and click it. It will then give you a window to select your browser. Load Chrome.

When you are ready to preview your site go back to this option and click on the browser you want to look at it in. Should come up fine in Chrome. I use it all the time.

The only difference is that you cannot look at your code and make changes you see instantly in the preview. But really, this doesn't take much longer and lets you compare different browsers to see that it looks the same in all of them.

Ah perfect that will work! Thanks! The crashing was when I tried to do the split screen preview, that crashes it. But the CNTRL+F5 trick (tools>additional browsers) will work fine.

Have you tried reloading IE. there could be a problem. I think I had to download a special uninstaller first. I had a IE split screen problem and that solved it. I believe the effort is worth it as the ability to edit with the assistance of the split screen is awesome
