When I use the "copy CSS" code link from Photoshop it will not paste into the Coffeecup HTML editors. It pastes into word and other such programs just not yours. Also any other text from other places will paste fine. The paste command is even greyed out.
Any ideas?

Hundreds of Microsoft Users are having the same issue. The Copy and Paste feature is a Windows Function and you can find more information about this issue here http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/wind … 452a772114
You may need to disable your Antivirus program and firewall to see if that helps as well.
If these suggestions do not help we recommend posting for assistance in the Microsoft Forums which can be found here http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows
Hope this helps!

If you can, just paste to Notepad or any other program that doesn't add extra characters, then copy it again and paste to the HTML editor from there.

It's not the anti-virus or firewall. It's a weird issue between photoshop and html editors. I have tried three programs now (Coffeecup, cuteFTP and HTML kit) and none of them will paste the CSS code.
This is the only thing I have ever had trouble pasting in anything.
That fix posted above is for laptops and windows 8.1. I am on windows 7 64 bit.
As for the notepad thing, that's what I have been doing, but that is not a great workflow.

No, but it works. It's got to be that wordpress is just adding extra code somewhere that the other programs don't like. Obviously pasting to notepad or something removes the code. Wordpress may consider it a security thing to keep people from copying the code, I don't really know, but you may find a solution on a wordpress forum. Sorry I couldn't be more help.

Wordpress is not involved in anyway. It's Photoshop and Coffeecup only. (And a couple other various editors which makes me think it's PS for some reason but I dunno)
I'm sorry, I'm on drugs right now. Photoshop. Right. Same answer.

I've had an issue where if I copy code from web pages that contain a < it will only copy the < and everything to the right.
example:
If I copy the code above to a page in the editor it will only paste
I have to go back and copy just the code to the left. I've search for an answer but have never resolved the issue.
example:
if ($variable < 0)
{$var = "neg"}
{$var = "neg"}
If I copy the code above to a page in the editor it will only paste
< 0)
{$var = "neg"}
{$var = "neg"}
I have to go back and copy just the code to the left. I've search for an answer but have never resolved the issue.
I can't hear what I'm looking at.
It's easy to overlook something you're not looking for.

Actually that's the right work flow when you're copying and pasting text from anything that is "not" a plain text editor. You should even do that when copying text from Word or equivalent rich text programs. The reason for this is the same reason that Gunsmoke mentioned. Many programs, including rich text editors like Word and Word Pad, add extra hidden characters to your page and can mess things up and you cannot find it because it doesn't show up in the page.
So, if that's what you're doing already, keep up the good work and know that you're doing exactly what you should be doing when copying text from programs not generally plain text programs.
The problem with using notepad is it defeats the purpose of being able to directly copy the CSS in Photoshop.
The thing is it's NOT adding extra characters. When I paste it in wordpad it's straight CSS. If I copy CSS from anywhere else, coffeecup will accept it. There is a breakdown between the PS code and HTML programs somewhere since I have now found 3 that won't paste the code in. (So it's not JUST coffeecup but some weird affliction of some html editing software).
I am trying to get it resolved because the Coffeecup software is more user friendly than many of the others out there... except for this.
