Is there a maximum file size - Post...
I have an HTML file that is created by another application, that I need to make some changes to.
The file size is given as 10,159Kb. because MS Frontpage has difficulties handling it, I am looking for an alternative & Coffee Cup seems to be a possibility
I am trying to load it into Coffee Cup, but 20 minutes later, all I get is an advert for S-Drive and a flashing drive light.
Is it possible to handle a file of this size in Coffee Cup, or should I look for something else?
Alan
It must be something else that causes the error. I'm working with html files of around 25-30 kB without problems. If the file has been made with Front Page, there might be a lot of old, deprecated code in it, as Front Page has 'aged' quite a bit. If you have the file uploaded somewhere, let us have the URL so that we can take a look.

The file is 10,159Kb - rather larger, I think than 25-30Kb. It is a bibliography generated from a program called LibraryMaster.
I don't seem to have a problem with smaller files. I will have to go through one of my directories and systematically check different files.

Why in the world would a single page be 10 mb large? That's an extremely large file and I'd be hard put to find any program that would open that file without difficulty. My guess is you have a lot of things in that file that cause issues with a web editing program. My other guess is that if it was made with FP that's half the problem

Oh dear, I forgot that I was dealing with people from a different continent, where comma and dot are reversed from what we have in Norway...
