Is RSD is for me? - Post ID 258870

For five years, I operated a website business through SiteSell. The site was designed to teach teachers how to teach teens and adults to write nonfiction. I designed and built the site myself using Dreamweaver software that is now 15 years old .

Back in 2013 when Google was changing it's algorithm and website rules twice a month, I shut down that site. At the time, I had over 400 content pages with an average length of 600-800 words.

I've had enough time away that I think I could start the site again. Since the Dreamweaver software needs to be replaced, I'm looking for something to replace it with. I'm not sure if Responsive Site Designer appropriate for me.

I'm a text person. I worry about trying to master new software with video tutorials. I have an awful time learning anything from a video. The visuals interfere with the audio and I end up with a message that's as clear as a scrambled egg.

My content is very text-heavy. (It's doesn't lend itself to visuals.) And I have a terrible time doing design work apart from content. Am I setting myself up for ulcers if I attempt to revamp an entire 400-page side with RSD?

Are there any other folks with similar learning problems who've conquered Responsive Site Designer?

Thanks for any suggestions.

I think I would take a look at RLM and the HTML Editor. RLM will give you the responsive layout you need and the HTML Editor will allow you to make tweaks outside the application is needed. RLM will allow you to add all the text you need within the application.
I can't hear what I'm looking at.
It's easy to overlook something you're not looking for.

This is a site I built for my work.(RSD)

This is a site I built for use in my job.(HTML Editor)

This is my personal site used for testing and as an easy way to share photos.(RLM imported to RSD)

What you say suggest to me that RSD works like a building contractor and RLM works like an interior designer/decorator. If that's the case, then RLM sounds like the way for me to go since I do my own "interior" content creation.

Bought HTML editor some time ago and I also have Menu Builder, so I guess all I need immediately is RLM.

I'm pretty sure I'll be back for the responsive email program before awfully long.

Thanks for the advice, Eric.
