Hi, having trouble using the IP address restriction feature in Web Access Manager.
If I just put a spurious IP address as the only one allowed access, it still lets everyone (from any IP address) view my site. (Password restriction appears to work fine).
Restricted IP address access is a feature I really need to be able to use. Any ideas?

Many thanks for your help,

Rod.

Make sure you are using "Block Access to My Website for Everyone except the IP addresses listed below. If that is what you did, contact your hosting provider to see if they support that feature within htaccess.

Couple of things to look at ... are you using the most recent version of WAM ( v5 Build 234 ) ?

Make sure you 'Run as Administrator' if on a PC.

Make sure the settings are correct...

If all of this is correct, post back and maybe someone else will have a suggestion.

Hi, thanks so much for your help,I am definitely using the IP block option within WAM and have just received the following from my ISP:

"Hello Rod,
You can block the IP using .htaccess of your site. For this you need to use IP Deny Manager from your cPanel.
Please login to your cPanel, click on IP Deny Manager and add the Ips or range of Ips you wish to block.
Should you require any further information or if we can be of assistance with anything else please do not hesitate to get in touch.
Kind regards"

Not sure where this leaves me now.
Many thanks for your help.

I would really like to be able to use WAM for all my security control, as I want to keep things simple, if at all possible. Have any of you come across this situation before.
Any suggestions welcome :)
