This may not be the best sub for this, but it's the only one I really know of that fit the bill. If there's one where it would fit better please let me know.

Either way, I'm looking for opinions on HTML editors. I have a project for my web development class that mandates that we use an HTML editor, and I'm not sure which one I should use. I'm not opposed to paying for one and I know Dreamweaver is the pre-eminent paid one. I'd probably go for that if it were a one-time cost, but I really don't love the idea of paying $20 a month for something I probably won't use very regularly. Does it have any benefits or features that really make it worth the money over something like Kompozer or CoffeeCup? Can someone give me a rundown of what some of the benefits/differences between the different editors are?

Coffeecup has a free version of their Html Editor.

Give it a try.
I can't hear what I'm looking at.
It's easy to overlook something you're not looking for.

If you scroll down to the bottom of the page Eric gave you a link to, you will find a comparison table between the Free Html Editor and the paid one. You can use the listed features as a comparison also to other website builders.

Faiseltracy,

Your second post here has been deleted, because it was only a quotation of your first post plus my reply, and in between you had stuck a couple of spam URLs. If you post more of that kind, you will find yourself banned before you know it.
