Hack To Delete 'upload file...

I want to give the option for users to delete an attachment after they have selected a file for upload in Web Form Builder (before they hit the submit button).

Currently the only way to do this is to refresh the page and lose the data already input, this can be frustrating for a user who has spent time inputting details and thinks he may have uploaded the wrong file/photo :o

I checked with support and they confirmed that this is not possible just yet, but, maybe considered in the future.

I was wondering if any forum users had developed a Hack to do this?

If yes it would be great if you could share your solution :D

I haven't bothered on my end, but you can also do a nice little trick that helps, if your form isn't a mile long one of course hehe. Set all the fields/elements to allow Auto-Complete (this is a checkbox for each field that has data manually entered). This way if someone does need to refresh they can just click into each element's box and the previous data should pop up for them to choose it rather than needing to retype it for each box. Nice little time saver for forms that need to be filled out more than once, or for testing too, but I think even more of a helper for your situation as well.

Not the perfect solution of course, and your suggestion is definitely a good one, but this will at least help for now. :)

Hi Jo,

Hah, that's a nice little tip for fields where you have to input text or numbers :)

I was kind of looking for ideas on a specific hack for the upload file box though.
Your suggestion is a clever use of the cache to save some time when re-inputting the same data after a refresh though.

Have something to add? We’d love to hear it!
