I have several questions but will seperate them into different threads.
I am a newbie to setting up an e-commetce site and although I did some html, it was 20 years ago and boy oh boy things have changed! I am also trying to assess if the software will meet our needs. Unfortunatelly, I am pressed for time so cannot juat play with it until I figure it out. And I am sure someone has the answers already!
In setting up products, if I have a product with different quantities in a box at different prices, does the price change automatically when the desired quantity is selected? I seem to be getting a (+$) in the selected quantity though the price listed in the product description + the added$ does not come to a correct amount. Where do I look for the info - the pdf help file does not elaborate. Is using the product grid easier/faster to imput for several similar products?
I am in Canada but the taxes for here are not listed. Do I just add them manually?
Shipping - Canada Post has online shipping tools that auto calculates cost Can this be imported to work with the software? If so, how?
Many thanks in advance!
Linda

To answer your other questions here:
To create similar product setups with different colors, designs, sizes, etc. you would use the Optional Fields. When you create an Optional Field this will then allow you to add different variations to a product. You would then type the item's alternate such as if you are offering a product in different sizes and put a price in the right column of it to tell it what the "difference" in price is. What happens then is if someone chooses an item from there it will add the price to the base price of the main product. So if you create say a shirt and it comes in Small, Med, and Lg. you would do something like:
Main product would be setup as a normal product with price of $10.00 and this would usually be the lowest priced variation so we'd set this up as the Small option for the main product.
Optional fields would then be:
Medium $2.00
Large $3.00
This would then tell the shop that if someone chooses a Large shirt to add $3.00 to the base price of the main product which is $10.00 for a total of $13.00.
Shipping and Taxes are all entirely manual, there are no connections to outside sources to fill them in for you unfortunately.
Hope that helps
