DropDown With Conditional Logic -...
Hi:
I am new to this program. I am trying to create a Dropdown with Conditional rules. I have tried following the forum questions, but no luck. I found a site that has the template that I need share.axure.com/4W05C4/. I would like to this without any scripting. Please let me know all the steps.
If it easier I can use Visual Site Designer
Thank You
Jerry

Hiya Jerry,
You can accomplish this for the most part, but do understand that it won't look the same as what you see on that site. What the Web Form Builder does for conditionals is hide them until they are needed. So what you will see is:
Field 1 (with drop down to make choices so you make a choice)
Field 1 - Field 2 (with dropdown to make choices in field 2 so you make a choice)
Field 1 - Field 2 - Field 3 (all 3 fields will now show depending on the choices made and so on)
The program doesn't have the setup like that site page where it just changes the dropdowns depending on previous field choices, it will only hide them until they are asked for basically. And yes you can do this without any coding for the form at all.
Create your first field and populate it's drop down menu.
Create your 2nd field and populate it's drop down menu.
- Add conditionals to the 2nd field based on the choices in the First field that you want to show the 2nd field with.
Create your 3rd field and populate it's drop down menu.
- Add conditionals to the 3rd field based on the choices in the First field that you want to show the 3rd field with.
*Note* You will find it necessary at times to negate the other choices by "Add Conditional" and choosing And or Or to make sure fields do not show up at all if the other choices of this menu are made, and sometimes you will need to tie these to other fields as well to keep them from showing up. It can get pretty complicated if your form is going to be very complex, but it's definitely doable.
Trial and error for the most part will play a lot of parts in it, and be sure to do the Preview a lot to be sure it's working correctly.
One thing that some people are having problems realizing is that you need to hit the "Insert" button to add each conditional and sub conditionals or they will not be added.
Hope that helps and good luck!

Yup, If you don't want anything to do with creating the scripting language yourself then the form builder is the way to go.The nice thing is that you can use the form builder to quickly create a form then use what ever method that you like to create the dynamic drop downs. I have several forms that I altered to use php mysql databases to load the drop downs.
This makes the form builder very versatile for all users. Very cool tool.

Scroll down and look at "Show Element". There is also a ? icon you can click to access the documentation on how to use it.

Actually, no scripting involved. Easy to do what that site shows. Take a gander at this... http://gunsmoke.me/formtest7

Thank You to all that responded to my questions. I was using an other version.
Another version as in the Flash version? Or another version as in not a CoffeeCup software?
Have something to add? We’d love to hear it!
