Hiya Snotty,

The best way to be sure what files to delete might be to publish the site to a folder on your desktop. Then you can see exactly what files it has put on the server. You don't have to delele all the files on your server, just the ones that were created by the VSD program in any way. :)

I'm sorry Jo Ann, but I wouldn't have any idea of how to do that. I know of the "choose a publishing destination" option within VSD but the only destination I have on there is the one I am currently using..
How can I have it publish to desktop?

hmm if no one else that uses VSD steps in to give info on how to do that I'll fire it up tomorrow and see. I don't use the program, I just know you can do it so I'll check tomorrow and see if anyone has answered you and go from there :)

You never publish to your desktop. You simply save it to there. This is actually automatically done for you each time you save your website. Just look inside of the _website folder for all your HTML and images.

Ah ok good to know, I had always assumed it was a publish thing, didn't realize it did it automatically. One more nice feature of the program :)

Yes, I see where everything is stored inside the website folder. My problem now is when I publish the site from VSD I still get this "Index of /" page instead of the website. I am pretty sure when I used DIrect FTP to publish I got some wires crossed between it and VSD. What I really need to do now is to wipe everything clean and start from scratch so that I can just publish from VSD but I can't figure out how to do that.
Is this something that I could contact my hosting service about since I have failed & failed & failed to do it through CC software?

if you havn't already, got it, try CC free ftp

go to the server with free ftp, it will open in the rute directory

see if theres a folder called public_html

Double click to open it, inside are your website folders,, so if its only one website you have everything will be in there, and you can delete each part using your free ftp. just remove VSD relevant files images etc.

If you have addon doamains with more websites, each add on domain has its own folder.

(ie) my delorean website is Rute :: Public_html :: Delorean........co.uk :: inside this folder I could delete everything and Delorean would be NO MORE !!!!
Started using CC VSD in January 2009, I don't do HTML code, Sales from CC site exceeding expectations taken me out of semi-retirement
