Can't save

I just tried dragging a new file onto an HTML page and the program goes into non-response mode. I've tried it three times and have to shut down. My view page doesn't work so I resort to just using HTML....but now this is happening. Do I need an update?

Thank you so much for any help.... My business will be hard to manage if I can't get this to work to update the pages.

Version 12.7
I just did a 'repair' for comptibility and it didn't fix it. I can't drag and save on HTML - it goes into 'no response'.

It used to work :(((

Deborah, CoffeeCup has some 30 odd programmes, so when Eric asked which programme, he obviously expected you to reoly with the name of one of the programmes. Anyway, the HTML Editor is the only one which has a version 12,7 out, so it must be that.

I don't quite understand your problem though, this 'dragging' confuddles me. Please explain in more detail.

Hi Deb,

I'm as mixed up as Inger (and Eirc) here...

Can you tell us a bit more about what exactly you are trying to do in the editor. We can all offer helpful and specific guidance if we can fully understand the issue.

Can you tell us what you want to do and maybe publish some code or a link to the page if it's already live. Then we will be more than happy to help figure it out :)

Dave :)

Deborah, i dont use the html editor, so i am no help to you there, I dont do code so i use VSD instead

But back to basics : it may be worth checking if this is a recent download of a free trial, as a guest, i guess new user, possibly new to website design (correct me if i am wrong)

(A) have you tried uninstalling the program, and running a fresh download, preferably NOT wireless, incase there is a fault due to a poor instal.

(B) if starting again from scratch, name the project AS NEW (change name)

if using what you have done so far, do a SAVE AS and rename it (ie) project name 6th december

It may help others to help you if you are using a CC template if you say which one

It may help others if they know what version of Windows, operating system etc.

Ok - I will try and reload. I've been with coffee cup for a few years now. I think I even bought it! Can't remember.

I have windows 7. I have to use the HTML Editor - I can't even use the splitscreen view as it locks up and I have to shut it down. So I stick with the editor only...and now I can't drag and drop into the page... locks up. Goes into 'no response'.

So I will try and relad the software. I'n thinking a windows update may have changed something. I don't know, but it's very frustrating when I need to make a change and FTP it back to my website.

I don't have time to reload it now - have to wait until Sunday.. I'll let you know if that works.. :(

This is my business website and I have one main file on my hard drive that holds everything (it's on my ISP server as well naturally) But that is what I bring up on HTML Editor to work on; all the jpgs, HTML's are in that file.

thanks though

Isn't there an old version of HTML editor that also had a visual editor ?

I seem to remember trying it, failing and buying VSD instead
