Hi, Need help urgently!

I tried to upoad new pages to my hosting website:

These are the parameters I used.
Server 192.185.5.96
user name ********* Edited for security by admin******
Password *********
Folder public_html/ cptbootsiesmagictimemachine.com/ ranya
note this for a subdomain)
When I tested the connection all was ok, but when I tried to upload I got an error message" Could not crete a catalog) What is this?

It's urgent I get this resolved as I need to upload through the programme, not thorugh an external ftp as that won't delete the previos pages. Also please not the example I gave you is a new page, there are no previous pages to delete.

Thanking you in advance. I look for you urgent response.

Best regards
Lady J

public_html/ cptbootsiesmagictimemachine.com/ ranya

Try it with no spaces in the directory name. Some servers deal with spaces, some do not. Also, make sure 'passive mode' is checked.

Let us know how it comes out.

One other note. This is not a secure server. DO NOT (or I would not) post logins and passwords. Hopefully one of the moderators will remove that.

Hi Gunsmoke,

It's still a no go. Still the same problem and the same message. Everything is the way it's supposed to be. When I test the connection the test says "Done no errors found" and still I get the same error message "error while uploading. The program could not create a catalog"

I need to get my pages up and the one I've been testing has never been uploaded previously.
public_html/cptbootsiesmagictimemachine.com/cmdrranya But I need to upload a whole bunch of pages to previously published pages on my site and I'm really in a jam because I don't know what will happen. I'm not a tech, but this doesn't seem logical to me.

I've used this programme for years and never had this problem before. In fact, it's the only programme I use.

So where to now? I'm stumped.

Try uploading to a sub directory under the main domain for testing. This way you can rule out somethings.
Also try
/public_html/cptbootsiesmagictimemachine.com/cmdrranya
I can't hear what I'm looking at.
It's easy to overlook something you're not looking for.

Hi Eric,

I've tried everything and used what you suggested. It doesn't get any better. Test connections finds no errors. But when I upload I get the same error message: "error while uploading. The program could not create a catalog"..

There also seems to be another problem. I am not a guest. I'm a CoffeeCup user from way back and have purchased many programmes from you. VSD, Photo Gallery, Video player. My drives went belly up and it's possible that the email originally used was lost. How can we correct that problem.?

I thinlk I'm having Excedrin headache 101, what with not being able to upload in VSD and now Coffe Cup doesn't even recognise me as an old paying client.

Any and all help would be appreciated. I used to login as cptbbear and of course when I paid the ivnoices were to Judith Moore.

Look forward to your earliest response.

Best regards
Judith

Judith, I will not even start attempting to advise you on uploading through VSD as I don't use it myself. But If you have a CC account that you can't access, contact support (You may not be able to connect to your support room, in that case mail Scott at scott@coffeecup.com) and explain the problem with your account.
Ha en riktig god dag!
