Hi,

I am new here, downloaded all the trial soft and have 2 questions to be sure. (section webshop)

1. Is there a way I can adjust the language of "you are here" and "you have xx items in your cart" in the shopping cart creator ? I want to create a shop but in my native language (Dutch) and some sentences are still in English and I can not find where to adjust those.

2. Can I grant access to my webshop to only customers with a password I have provided them ? So the webshop is only available to customers and no customer means no access. Even the search engines may not list the categories nor the products. Can shopping cart creator make such possible or do I need another app ?

Thanks.

Hiya Charlie,

You'll have to edit the scripts for number 1. as I am pretty sure there are no places to change a lot of that stuff within the programs at all. Some things you can like the menu buttons and such, but the rest would be within the scripts themselves and someone else will have to answer just where to edit it as I don't do that myself.

2. You would again need to either script a login system into your site for your customers or you can do something using CoffeeCup's Website Access Manager and setup manual accounts for your customers (there is no auto account system for it). Usually a customer would want to do things right then and there so a login system built into the site would probably be better than an Access setup so that the customers can create their own accounts etc. This would have to be done using scripts to set it up though and although I can tell you "what" to do to achieve it, someone else I'm sure will be around to give you more details. :)

Jo Ann, thanks for your reply.

I have a website made myself, completly made in Flash Actionscripting, including a complete webshop who's fulfilling all my needs. The webshop is made like I need it and secured by Flash and PHP.

Now that Microsoft and Apple will stop supporting Flash for Ipad, Iphone I am missing a bunch of client's who can not visit my site anymore due to the Flash dispute. That's why I would like to build it complety again but this time in HTML5 and CSS3 with the help of CoffeeCup off course.

Because I read that some of the app's in the CofffeeCup store are using Flash too, I am not sure if I will be able to achieve my goal with CC. I am still unsure if I should buy the complete pack. Is CC also planning to remove the Flash based app's for the future ?

So far CC has been gradually removing the flash apps one by one and some are being replaced by new programs and some will just be gone at some point so yes they are planning to remove most of them. There may be a straggler or 2 left in there for a while, but not sure on that. Most of the CC apps that you would use to recreate a website when starting over would be within reach in the complete pack, but.... there are a bunch of new apps being developed and some released soon and I would hold off on purchasing that complete pack till some of them are out. The new Layout maker should be out soon which will be a great help for making responsive websites and when that is out I would say go for the pack then.

There's a bunch of other responsive apps planned for the future too, but I'm not sure of the time frame of them so may as well wait on the Layout Maker before you buy the complete pack. Yes you'll be losing some of the apps as they are retired due to flash, but there's a lot of great apps in there still making that package very worth the cost.

Hope that helps :)
