I may need to sign up for Obamacare! Yikes!! :D

Spent the last 8 yrs with no insurance  I'm taking advantage of Obamacare for as long as it lasts :D

Glad to hear you're making some progress with your condition, Gunsmoke :)
I love deadlines. I like the whooshing sound they make as they fly by. (Douglas Adams)

So Gunsmoke will you be going back behind the wheel?
I can't hear what I'm looking at.

I'm hopeful. I'm down on the drugs. Starting tomorrow I'll be at the minimum dose. If everything works out then next week I'll be off the drugs and a week from Friday will get my medical release to return to work. However, there's a catch. (usually is...) The Neurologist that shot me in the neck says I'm at risk of spine damage because of the bulging disks in my neck. Says I should not lift over 20# ever. I told him I needed to able to lift 75# to stay at work so he changed his mind and told me not to lift over 75#. Yea. so, if I lift over 20# am I going to blow out? Or was his original decision padded for safety? Hmmmm . . .

Either way, since I train I should have a rookie with most of the time, and they can do the lifting! :D

Good luck with it Gunsmoke, and definitely let the trainee do the heavy lifting! Even though the doc says go ahead, do so with a extreme caution as it's very easily triggered again if you do it right away. Give it some time like a good 6 months or more before you start lifting that much again and you should be ok.

Wishing you well and a good recovery!

Thanks Jo Ann. Now if I could just get my short term disability payments. Mutual of Omaha. What a crock! I hope I never have to deal with these people again. They owe me over 3 weeks now and still say it's going to be another 3-5 days (probably not counting the weekend) while they 'review' the records they got from my doctor. Hospitalized for 5 days, but hey, I might have been faking it I guess! Yea, nothing like an $80,000 bill when you don't need one, huh?

Sorry, I'm a bit 'riled' right now . . .

Holy Crap G! Thats ******** I would be tearing them a new ***. Isn't that insurance for you... they are there for you when you don't need them and gone when you do. Well best of luck Gunsmoke! I too live with chronic back pain and a condition that is called Dystonia in my lower lumbar.

I don't know about you but I think back problems are the worst thing in life to suffer from and no one truly knows how bad it is until they have it.

but hey, I might have been faking it I guess!

Yea I fought Workman's Compensation Board for 2 and a half years and went through dozens of their doctors/surgeons before they believed I wasn't faking!

All the best to you my friend! Keep fighting the good fight!
