Perfect! Now will this total get sent to PaPal or will the item qty be sent ($5.00 for one, $10.00 for two)? I'm assuming that this is just a visual and is not transmitted.

There will be a total sent to Paypal when user submits the form and continues to paypal. You need to enable the payment options for each input and how they work. Leave the total that we worked on as a standard input and don't enable payments on it.

But the total that we've been working on, or you, is not the total that is sent. The totals that are sent are from the item quantities.
Do I need to add anything to the email confirm so that the grand total will appear there?

When you enable payments for each input you have to set what each does. My total is for the users benefit as they make selections. My total will show in the confirmation.

Gotcha! 
How would I transmit the total with the added PayPal fees? They want the consumer to pay the total as the price would more. If they transmit just $5.00 per item, they will lose money since PayPal takes it from what was sent to them. I hope I'm being clear. This is all new to me so.

In the form builder you setup your paypal then for each of the inputs you select "Price Multiplier" next to "Payments" on the properties tab.
Next you enter 5 for the price directly under that. The number entered will be multiplied by the 5 dollars to com up with a price.

Sorry for the delayed reply. Just getting over a nasty head cold.
I don't think this will work like I had planned. I was wanting to pass the PayPal fees on to the purchaser.
