Accessing my FTP file as HTTP - Post...
I am trying to use CC Free FTP to upload audio files to my website. I can upload files to the FTP server but when type the address into browser it comes up with an error or it requires my user name and password. Here are two examples:
http://www.mydomain.org/filename.mp3 -- this link errors out
ftp://ftp.mydomain.org/filename.mp3 -- this link requires a password and username
I am not understanding something

Can you provide a link to your actual domain where the mp3 is located?
I can't hear what I'm looking at.

It makes sense the ftp link would require a login/password. That is normal for ftp access to a server. As far as accessing the .mp3 file, different servers have different requirements. As Eric said, a link would be nice. But in the meantime, make sure there are no spaces in your mp3 filenames. Some servers do not play nice with spaces!

These are the options I use when I link the audio file. The website is "thebeginningofknowledge.org". I purchased the domain from bluehost and use wordpress to design the website.
http://ftp.thebeginningofknowledge.org/God.mp3
ftp://ftp.thebeginningofknowledge.org/God.mp3
http://www.thebeginningofknowledge.org/God.mp3
http://ftp.thebeginningofknowledge.org/God.mp3
ftp://ftp.thebeginningofknowledge.org/God.mp3
http://www.thebeginningofknowledge.org/God.mp3
The link http://www.thebeginningofknowledge.org/God.mp3 gives a 'file not found' error.
However, the link on the website is http://www.thebeginningofknowledge.org/audio/God.mp3 which also gives a 'file not found' error.
So the obvious question is, where did you upload the mp3 files? Be aware that spaces cause problems and capital letters. Your link must be exact.
Do not use ftp anywhere in the link. Access with http should work fine once you locate the file on your server. Make sure it is .mp3 and not .MP3

This is a copy of the URL on my server.
ftp://ftp.thebeginningofknowledge.org/audio/God.mp3
Other than this, I have no idea where my file would be located.

I would contact your hosting provider Joshua and have them look at your account. They would be able to help you there.
