Yes, the latest version of Joomla has group and user permissions making more in-line with Drupal. Drupal won't die off, there are too many die hard users but they are the technical folks. The turn off for me was the upgrade path from Joomla 1.5 to 1.6., or lack of. I won't even mention the TinyMCE Editor issues. :)

lol yeah I hear that, the code stripper from hell as far as I'm concerned. Getting around that one was a pain in the arse and it's a shame when you have to apply a billion mods to do the things that the program should do all by iteself. But it was pretty, and that was something Drupal was definitely not. Plain Jane was the best you could get from Drupal for a long time, not sure if they've improved on that or not yet.
