10.1 Install after 14.1 has issues

I recently set up a new PC and wanted to install the Free Editor. I accidentally installed the 14.1 "Download a Free Trial" version. Once aware of the mistake I removed it and then installed 10.1. The issue I have is that it's clear the uninstall did not remove the prior 14.1 install.

I've followed the very slick "HTML EDITOR INSTALLATION CLEANUP" page on the site. I also ran the CC Cleaner program as per several posts in the Community forum. I've deleted the Roaming folder. I've uninstalled and restarted and installed over 20 times and the 14.1 footprint is still there somehow.

I know the 14.1 version is still there because I get a "This feature went kaboom when you didn't upgrade to the full version..." message. I also get "hangs" in the application when I go to a different program and then go back (Alt-Tab functionality) and the HTML Editor "cycles" for 5-7 seconds before I can start using it again.

I'm at wits end and appreciate any help anyone can provide.

Hi Bill. You might want to open a support ticket on this one.

Did you know that Web Form Builder can be used for both simple and complicated forms and that it's not limited to the default fonts and buttons? Take a look at a form we developed for WindowTinting.com.

Hi there Bill,

Sounds like you have tried a lot of things to resolve your issue. When you go to Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Programs and Features do you see the CC HTML editor in there?

How many CC products to you own? If only this one you may if you so feel, go into the registries and delete Coffeecup Software folder from everywhere you can find it. Then try to download a fresh copy and install it. Please be warned you are at your own risk when modifying the registries.

30 day free trial. Revo uninstaller is really good at tracking down lost bits and bytes of programs and removing all traces. Can do a really deep scan to find everything. It's free, give it a shot.

You might want to re-install the version you no longer want and then use Revo. That way it can trace the entire program.

Ok let me ask the obvious question here...

Why was it a mistake to install the newest version? There shouldn't be any compatibility issues from the old to the new, just a lot more nicer features. I would think the newer version would be much more helpful so let us know what it is about the old version that keeps you on it?

Jo Ann, he wanted the free editor rather than the latest paid for version.

The Revo Uninstaller did the trick. Thank you Gunsmoke. For others that may have the issue:

1) Uninstall v. 10.1
2) Restart machine
3) Install v. 14.1
4) Uninstall v. 14.1 using Revo
5) Restart machine
6) Install v. 10.1

In Step 4 the Revo Uninstaller found a whole bunch of stuff that did not delete using the Control Panel Uninstall Process.

I appreciate the help Gunsmoke. I also appreciate all the other comments and suggestions. An impressive support community.
