Hello,

Whenever I make changes to my web site and want them to go live I've been uploading the ENTIRE site, and with my internet connection this takes a looooong time.

Is there a way in CoffeeCup of only uploading the pages I've altered or added?

Thanks in advance for your wonderful advice!

Best wishes,

You can do that anytime with any editor. Are you using the internal ftp for upload or are you using an external one? In either case you can always just upload the files that have been changed or added.

Hi Eric,

Once I've made and saved the changes in Coffeecup I've been clicking on the main 'Upload' button, sending it to the ftp address of the server hosting the site (remote from me).

When I do it this way it automatically uploads the entire site. So how do I ensure it just uploads the files that have been added or changesd

I'm a beginner, and I'm stuck on this...

Are you using CoffeeCup's Visual Site Designer? I'm not familiar with its functionality, as I use the HTML Editor.

In the HTML Editor, when editing a single page in code view, I save the changes, then right-click in the code window and select 'Upload File to Server', which sends only the file I'm editing.

Yes, I'm using Coffee Cup's Visual Site Designer, not HTML editor...

I am not that familiar with VSD either. However, you can get a external ftp to upload individual pages if the right click method does not work. Coffee Cup has a free version you can have. :D

Thanks Eric,

So... what is this free version called, where can I find it, and is it easy to use?

Obviously, I'm a complete beginner at this kind of stuff! My brain goes foggy over issues that to avarage web designers probably seem utterly straightforward!

Don't worry about it that is the reason for the forums. Here is the link to CC's free FTP program.

Good luck.

So I'm guessing the one I want is Free FTP 4.2?

And I'm also guessing that once I've saved changes to my site I use FTP 4.2 to upload it, instead of using the upload button within Visual Site Designer?

Is that correct?

(Thanks for your astonishing patience!)

Yes, that is correct. You should look at the tutorials and stuff as well just to get familiar with it so you know how to upload properly. Once you get the basics its not that hard. :D
