Hello, all.
Would Photoshop Elements 8 be adequate for editing graphics and lite text graphic creation for web development?

HI Dan, I've never used Elements, but I know that GIMP is all I've ever needed. Some of that has to do with cost too. GIMP is free.

Yep.
Thanks for the responses.
Wish I wasn't so cheap and dish out themoney for the newest Photoshop as it has cool features. But I am cheap so I'll just stick with PSP7.

CoffeeCup... Yeah, they are the best!
I don't mind shelling out 100 bucks for Photoshop Elements if I can do what I need with it. I do, however mind spending the money on CS4. A few years ago I used photoshop 7 for web work, but it was way more than what I needed.
I have Photoshop elements 7 and I've yet to use it since I have PSP X2 ultima. I have Photoshop Elements 2 and I find it much more useful than 7 lol, wish I hadn't wasted my money on that one
Purchased One Click Wow CD's that say they are supposed to work with Photoshop elements 7, but of course they don't lol, and they do with 2 so... guess I stick with 2
I do all my image editing in PSP X2 though, all I usually do in PS 2 is style text type things for banners as it has such awesome text effects.

I think I would die without Photoshop!

Elements 8 is a great app, I highly recommend it (this from a years-long PSP user). I still have both, but these days I find myself turning to PSE more often than not when I want to do some creative bitmap or photo editing.

I have used elements for a couple of years now, and don't leave home without it. I have a bunch of other graphics editors, but I rarely use them.
