In the event you are unaware, Google has been emphasizing site security, i.e., https:// format, more and more since 2018. Needless to say, the average computer user has become less inclined to click on a site link in the SERPs that indicates 'Not Secure'. For a site to be considered secure, entering any one of example.com, www.example.com, http://example.com, etc. in a browser address bar should automatically be redirected to https://www.example.com if it's a secure site. FWIW, if your hosting site has provided you with a free SSL certificate that has been properly applied you really shouldn't be having an issue with this unless it requires 'redirects' added to a .htaccess file. Hope this helps.
