Hi:
The DHTM menu builder in my 2008 version works fine, but because the "top", "left" positioning is hard-coded, the menu appears in different spots. Works fine in IE8, but is off in Chrome and Firefox by about 10 pixels further left than I want it to be.
Is there a browser hack I can do so it holds position in all browsers?
Thanks!

Hi Casey, Have you given any thought to converting to a CSS menu?

I can't hear what I'm looking at.
It's easy to overlook something you're not looking for.

<div id="Text" style="margin:0;padding:0;position:absolute;left:497px;top:40px;width:15px;height:16px;text-align:left;z-index:1;"><font style="font-size:13px" color="#000000" face="Arial">Try putting the menu here</font></div>
I have not tried it with a menu yet but worth a try. Adjust settings to suit. 95% of my pages are constructed with these statements. I will try later and come back if it works. It does for just about any other element.

Sorry It does not work. I think Eric's solution is probably the way to go

Prism, I know I mentioned this before, but you really need to update your CSS practices as most of what you put in that code above is deprecated and will not validate. The style code needs to all go in the CSS now instead of in the HTML code.

You are right, I am behind the times. I might add an updated version.

No worries, just think you might enjoy working with the newer situations of it yourself too, it's quite powerful working with true CSS and it will validate much nicer too

Casey,
Can we have a link to the menu in question?
It will make it easier for us to trouble shoot the solution.

Actually I like the DHTML menu maker, smaller code. only I am not game to show how I would position it. My first try fought it and lost. It needed a bit of hammering into compliance. I have it now but way out there

Prism, try opening a page containing the dhtml menu with the Opera browser. Then you will see why we are trying to persuade everyone to convert to the css menu found built-into the HTML Editor. As to positioning, I think Sir AGE has a link in his signature to a help site where one way of positioning it is explained.
Ha en riktig god dag!
