i inherited a site made with Web Access Manager and Visual Site Designer.

the site needs to move to a new server.

the current server has a default structure of folders, and many of the files are inside a folder called "public_html".

when i upload the site to the new server, it can't find any of the files inside the "public_html" folder.

How do I migrate the site files and retain function?

thanks

May we have a link to the new and old site?

this is a password protected site. the only page you can view is the 'landing page' ,

the new site is not live yet, i've not repointed the nameservers until i verify functionality.

i need to understand what coffee cup is doing when it creates folders and puts files in them, and then i need to understand what the server is doing with those files when we upload them.

I don't have a local coffee cup folder called "public_html" but that is where the server puts most of the files.

i use dreamweaver, myself, and it is a simple matter to line up my local folder/file structure with what i see on the server.

Is there some special way that i have to configure the path to upload?

point me to a tutorial and i'll read it.

thanks

Are you planning to continue using the VSD and WAM programs with this site? If you have the files for it, just change the settings for uploading to the new server and upload it with VSD. Obviously follow the above information from the others :)

Have something to add? We’d love to hear it!
