Mouseover links - Post ID 191835
I understand (for the most part) the basics of using mouseovers in coffee cup.
I'm having trouble figuring out how (if there is a way) to use them more effectively. What I want to do (and maybe this isn't even the mouseover utility) is to make links to other pages pop up in the mouseover.
I don't know what to call that (I'm sure its got a standard name), but what I mean is, for example--on the menu bar above (the coffee cup forum menu bar), there are buttons for "store" "software" "s-drive", etc. Then if one hovers over "store", a bunch of other links pop up for "all software" (with other links below that), "website themes", etc. So basically instead of having 25 or 30 buttons, you have one main button with 25 or 30 links nested in it?
Does that make sense?
Thanks!

That's a drop-down menu. If you have the CC HTML Editor, it has a CSS menu maker in it you could use, or just Google it, there's gobs of how-tos out there

It's all CSS.

I can't hear what I'm looking at.
It's easy to overlook something you're not looking for.

This one is flash based, so i guess might be superseded soon

Very cool, that helps a bunch. The CC menu builder looks like just what I'm looking for. Viv...is it a problem being flash based? Reason it may be superseded?
The problems with flash based menus, or anything flash based, are
1. that Google won't be able to read it and therefore can't index it
2. if you open a site with flash content using one of the Apple I-gadgets (maybe also other smart phones, tablet PCs), they can't show flash content. And if the navigation is in flash, you won't be able to navigate to the various pages of the site.
Much safer to use a css based menu.

Guy,
On a practical level the Flash-based menu maker Viv was referring to has been superseded by CSS menus for quite some time! One reason to stay away from Flash these days is that Apple's i-devices don't support Flash...
If I were you, I'd follow the advice paintbrush gave you:
"If you have the CC HTML Editor, it has a CSS menu maker in it you could use, or just Google it, there's gobs of how-tos out there
"
EDIT: As Inger was saying also!!
(my typing is too slow!
