I have most everything CC has put out.

However. I need a website that is datebase driven. I have NO CLUE how to begin to do it. I can design it, no problem, but can't do the back end stuff.

My quest is to have a website like this one: www.greenpeople.org
where a person can search via zip code or speciality and come up the answer.

I have the name, the logo, the colors. However I don't know squat about the guts of
it. I do handcode, but yanno, that is SO passe and SO hard to remember all that stuff.

And I need to do an image map. Since I don't know squat about coordinates, I will do that by hand.

Can anyone help me make this website? I am limited in funds right now, but have a little and have lots of product from my other business. [which I won't list here because I am not trying to advertise]

Thanks,
Janine J

Hiya Janine,

Are you needing a login situation? If you don't really need a login then most anything on this site can be done without a database for the most part. I don't know what software you own from CC or others, but I can give you a rundown of the basics of what I see on the site and what will do them from CC's software. Mind you I'm no expert and some others may have better ideas or different ones to try too:

Obviously the main site setup can be done with either the HTML Editor or Visual Site Designer depending on which way you setup your site, code (which is what it sounds like you do) or visual.

Search can be done with CC's Website search.

The storefront (as well as the main site pages if you choose to do so in the program here) can be all done with the Shopping Cart Creator and Shopping Cart Designer Pro combo. This will allow you to create almost the entire site in the Shopping Cart Creator, or you can do what I and quite a few others have done and link the shopping cart to external HTML pages. It's a preference thing there :)

All the rest is a matter of theming setups which can be done with SCC or website editor (code or visual). I don't see anything here other than the actual Login system that can't be done with CC's software.

Hollar if you need more clarification on anything and we'll do what we can to help you get it rolling :)

P.S. If you are in dire need of the login system, you may find yourself better off looking for a simple CMS style site and integrating a shop into it. That's a whole 'nother topic there lol.

I agree with every Jo said. Are you needing a DB system so that you can keep track of logins, and have the DB remember passwords and such. That would be the only thing CC software can not do for you. Otherwise Jo's suggestions were great. If all you need the DB thing for is what I just mentioned, it might not be worth it to learn DB stuff as it is very complicated, for just that one thing. There are many alternatives to that method.
