Although I wouldn't participate since I'm pretty novice on most things lol, I would LOVE to see something like this, I can just imagine the types of great sites that could come from it :)

No no, I loved it. Laughed my head off. :) It's true, I don't have a creative bone in my body. I can fix most anything but don't ask me to draw it. :)
That's why I am a developer and not a Designer. :)

lol, drawl me a wire frame, tell me what you are thinking, give me the wire and I will weld it together.

Yup, that's about it. I can walk into your business and perform a system analysis of your process to create a custom desktop application. Just don’t expect it to look pretty. Better than command line but not much.

Tom - someone would still need to turn the winning designs into actual templates ;)
I love deadlines. I like the whooshing sound they make as they fly by. (Douglas Adams)

Great idea. What's my percentage? My name must come first in the credits. :D

I'm with Jo Ann on this i.e. I won't participate - I'm a rank amateur to the point of using tables for page layout - (grrr-rr) Down Tom! Down boy! (snap) Ow! - and I'm not good at innovation or lateral thinking.

But, I'd like to see something like this, not only to see what others can produce, but to see if I agree with other' people's judgement on such things.

Idea:

Wining design ( a theme or whatever reusable thing CC can make.) Cost: $3.00

$1.00 to winner
$1.00 to CC
$1.00 to Winner's Choice of Charity

Minimum $100 for charity check means people will buy this out of the goodness this does. Winner gets recognition, CC get good PR, charity gets good $$.

Just a thought. Hmmm.....Mother's Day is coming up. Breast cancer awareness would be a good charity to support for Mom's day.

Mothers day is too soon. But, I like the charity idea. I like the idea of Christmas being the deadline. That gives a lot of time for people to jump on board. I also like the idea of having different categories. Although, I strongly believe that design and development should be equally functional, I also understand the idea of having them in two different categories because not everyone does both. I haven't seen Scott or J in here yet, I wonder if they are reading these posts? :/
The philosopher has not done philosophy until he has acted upon the mere conviction of his idea; for proof of the theory is in the act, not the idea.
