Backup vnu won't reproduce my site...

Since I published my site using VSD my computer has crashed and I have lost my original VSD files. I have now followed your instructions in HELP and have:
1) Down loaded the vnu and FILES folder and HTML files from the backup folder on my web site.
2) I have created a folder and named it as per the vnu without the additional date info.
3) I have deleted the date info from the vnu.
4) I have dragged the vnu, files folder and HTML files into the new folder.

When I try to open my web site in VSD I get the message "The selected picture does not exist". I then click on LOCATE and browse to the "files" folder and my only choice is "open". So I check which object is selected and check which jpg I need to select. When that object opens the text is doubled and offset and it stays like that. I have to do this proceedure with nearly every object in the site and where ever there is a button the text name is doubled and slightly offset.

Other parts of the the site are ok but some of the colours are wrong and some fonts are wrong. (I only used standard fonts when designing the site-I know about the problems of using non-standard fonts)

There never was more than one vnu so no confusion there.

My question is: Is there any way to get my site back as it was originally designed? Or do I have to "repair" this error filled mess before I can make any changes?

Help! :(

When the site is uploaded the images are placed in the files folder, so download that also as all the files that made the site are there. The vnu file remembers the location of that file folder so if it can be placed as it was it may make life easier. Another thing whilst working on the site you could have inserted images and adjusted them so if you bring in a new copy maybe it doesn't fit.

Your computer might of crashed but how was the online site before hand. If it still is ok then download all files associated with it not the html ones and use those versions to fill the missing bits.
Actually it is so fast to create a site with VSD it may pay to create a replacement. I am sure there could be improvements it is your OLD site after all.

VSD is still looking for the image in it's original location on you pc when you added it to your site. Download the image if you can or make a new one and name it the same as the old one. Now make sure you put it back in the exact location the VSD is telling you when it says it can't find it.:) You may have to add a folder to your pc. Take a good look at what VSD is telling you and you should be good to go.
I can't hear what I'm looking at.
It's easy to overlook something you're not looking for.
